Assigning Permissions to Group Profiles

Just as groups in Active Directory allow permissions to be assigned to a collection of users all at once, Turbot group profiles provide the same capability.  Assigning permissions to Turbot group profiles is exactly the same as assigning permissions to individual users.

Note that Turbot group profiles cannot be created in the Turbot console. Group profile synchronization must be turned on for the directory that holds the user's identity.  When the user logs in for the first time, Turbot will create Group Profiles to match the groups that the user belongs to.  Turbot will manage group profile memberships as users login.

Once a group profile has been created by Turbot, permissions can be assigned to it.

  1. Navigate to the location in the Resource Hierarchy where permissions will be assigned.
  2. Go to the permissions tab.
  3. Click the Add Grant button.
  4. Start typing the name of the group profile you wish to add.  Select the name when it appears.
  5. Add the desired permissions.
  6. Click Grant.
  7. As shown below, the grant was successful if the intended group profile and permission appear in the Grants by Group section.
